Irma is an amazing teacher, mentor and also is a perfect personal Spanish tutor. She has vast knowledge of Spanish language and culture and is able to communicate, teach and explain on theoretical and practical levels.
She is always extremely prompt, professional, patient and motivating.
Working with Irma has produced great results in my Spanish education and has tremendously increased my confidence in using Spanish.
Irma has had a tremendous impact on my life. Firstly, she has helped me improve significantly my ability to speak, read and write Spanish. Second, I really feel that the world is a more open place for me, because I am able to communicate with everyone in my environment, and speaking Spanish with native speakers immediately puts them at ease, opens up doors, and shows them respect. I also feel that potential opportunities will arise for me because I am able to speak Spanish. My Spanish lessons are extremely important to me, and I look forward to them every week.
If you are interested in learning a new language, School of Language Arts is the place you should go.
Irma is fantastic! Our daughter came home from school halfway through the school year and said she didn't understand anything that was being said in Spanish class. A friend referred Irma to us. My daughter ended the year with a B+ with Irma's assistance and school asked her to do honors Spanish the following year as she had improved so much. This year, that same daughter just finished the year with an A in honors. Sadly Irma did her job too well so she didn't see her very often this year but when she needed her, Irma was there to the rescue.
Our kids have been taking Spanish lessons with Claudia at School of Language Arts for almost 2 years. We were introduced to Irma and Claudia from the kids' previous teacher who moved out of California. Both Irma and Claudia are wonderful teachers who employ great skills to make the lessons very interactive and enjoyable while emerging students in very cultural and academic oriented materials. Our kids improve their Spanish incredibly within a short period of time and more importantly, they are always excited to go to the weekly lessons. I find Irma and Claudia to be very personable, caring, and very creative in their teaching. We highly recommend School of Language Arts.
Irma extends course material far beyond language acquisition and includes information about culture, customs, and the differences between Euro-American culture and that of Mexico and South America. I find her to be very creative in her presentation of class material and homework assignments. Classes combine learning to read and write with learning grammar, pronunciation, and how to carry on s conversation. This is no "quick and dirty" learn to speak in two weeks kind of class. Classes are small, and you get a lot of individual attention. She is mindful of placing students at the same level together. I have been with the same class for about two years now.
I have been studying Spanish for the past year at the School of Language Arts and I couldn’t be happier.
I feel the way it is being taught is very simple and they put enough of emphasis on tougher subjects.
My teacher is Claudia and I appreciate the way she pronounces words in Spanish so I could understand when she speaks more clearly.
She understands the challenges of learning a new language and I feel she addresses them properly.
I highly recommend this School and I thank them for giving me the opportunity to fulfill a long desired dream of mine to learn Spanish
